Sustainable Herbal Medicine

Dawnfire Sanctuary, 5655 Main St, Williamsville. The therapeutic properties of medicinal plants have been well-documented by science. However, plants nourish us more deeply when we get to know them in the ecosystem we share. Community herbalist Sarah Sorci of Sweet Flag Herbs will introduce basic principles of sustainably wild-harvesting medicinal plants, focusing on several local species. Participants will sample syrups, tinctures and vinegars infused with locally abundant medicinal plants.
