At first glance, harvesting wild edible & medicinal plants may seem problematic for our ecosystem. Using sustainable and regenerative practices, we can not only avoid harm, but also have a positive impact while foraging.
In this talk, Sarah Sorci of Sweet Flag Herbs will share different practices for harvesting invasive, non-native, and a few abundant native plants. We’ll discuss edible and medicinal uses of a few common plants and how to ethically harvest them.
Participants will sample sustainably-harvested herbal preparations, and they’ll take home a guide for sustainably harvesting edible and medicinal WNY plants.
Children 17 and under come free with an adult.
