Sensory Introduction to Herbal Medicine

  • Lily Dale Assembly Lily Dale, NY United States (map)

If you've soothed a sunburn with aloe or warmed your cold feet with a cup of spicy ginger tea, you've used basic herbal medicine to support your body. In this workshop, we’ll explore common constituents found in a range of healing plants. Through taste, smell, and touch, you'll learn to recognize astringent tannins, moistening mucilage, aromatic oils, bitters, and more. We'll discuss how these constituents interact with the body, and you'll learn the most effective preparations for the constituents you wish to extract.

Many samples of fresh plants and herbal preparations will be shared. You'll take home recipes for basic herbal teas, vinegars, tinctures, and infused oils.

Cost is $55, including all samples and handouts.
