Cold and Flu Care with WNY Plants

EMPact America, East Aurora

Cold and flu season is upon us. Luckily, Western NY lawns, creeks and gardens offer an abundance of local plants that can help. Studies and tradition have shown that herbs like elderberry, echinacea, boneset, thyme and more can help with cold and flu prevention, and/or reduce the severity and duration of sickness. Learn to identify or cultivate these plants, and how to safely and effectively use them for a healthy winter season. Samples will be offered, and each participant will take home 2 oz of dried elderberries for preparing their own tea or elderberry syrup at home.

Cost: $10 includes all supplies and handouts.
